Academic master study programme ART OF DOCUMENTARY FORMS is a unique master programme in this part of Europe, designed to educate authors with talent and inclination towards documentary in film or TV.

Focus and specificity of this programme lies in its multimedia characteristics, where students build their artistic personality through exercise – created specifically for development of their authorship in different fields (film and TV) and for shaping their affinities.

The field of documentary semiology opens new space for aestheticexplorations of this form through creative processes, which implies understanding actual, life messages (of documentary – material world) from our environment, with their own signs and codes. That coding and decoding is a way to understand documentary language as a whole.

Documentary form art elements are topic of systematic pedagogical discourse – search for secrets of material reality and seeing and shaping that reality by an artist.

The programme is implemented through a series of pedagogical segments, i.e. lectures, creative workshops, seminars, exercises and art-teaching production which is basis of this master programme.

Creative concept is individual and autonomous, but implemented through team work.

Teaching materials are provided by the Academy and the mentor estimates scope and feasibility of each individual exercise. Students are left to independently choose and shape the topic for documentary work – from idea to realization either as film or TV form.

The world of directing and directing of the world are phenomena strongly present in our reality, no matter of the époque. Truth, fact and reality is the world represented in documentary form and which should be discovered and expressed by authors. Final master work is an artistic research process resulting in work of art – filming a documentary form lasting up to 30 minutes (documentary film or TV documentary forms).
