Goran Stanković je diplomirao filmsku i televizijsku režiju na Akademiji umetnosti u Beogradu, a magistrirao na Američkom filmskom institutu (AFI) u Los Anđelesu 2014. godine. Njegov završni film RAŽ (Way in Rye) nominovan je za Oskara za najbolji studentski film, dok su filmovi KO ČUVA ČUVARE i POLAZAK prikazani na preko 50 svetskih festivala i osvojili 17 nagrada. Tokom studija na AFI, dobio je stipendiju Holivudskog udruženja stranih novinara (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), kao i Franklin J. Schaffner nagradu za režiju. Njegov prvi dugometražni dokumentarni film U MRAKU, o rudarima u Srbiji, imao je svetsku premijeru na festivalu IDFA u Amsterdamu. Jedan je od kreatora i reditelja serije JUTRO ĆE PROMENITI SVE i serije SABLJA (u saradnji sa Vladimirom Tagićem), koja je nagrađena na Canneseries festivalu 2024. i dobitnik glavne nagrade na Serial Killer festivalu u Brnu, kao i Zlatne Magnolije na festivalu u Šangaju. SABLJA, distribuirana od strane Beta Film-a, prodata je u preko 15 teritorija, uključujući ZDF, ARTE i HBO. Goran je režirao 5 epizoda serije NEČISTA KRV, a njegov prvi dugometražni igrani film OČE NAŠ imao je premijeru na internacionalnom filmskom festivalu u Torontu (TIFF) 2025. Zajedno sa producentkinjom Snežanom van Hauvelingen, osnivač je produkcijske kuće This and That Productions u Beogradu.

Goran grew up in Serbia where he received his BA in film directing at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade. In 2014, he graduated with a Master’s Degree from the Directing Program at the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles and his thesis film WAY IN RYE was nominated for the Student Academy Award for Best Narrative Short. His undergraduate films WHO GUARDS THE GUARDIANS and OLD MOUNTAIN were selected for over 50 international festivals and won 17 awards. During his studies at AFI, he was awarded a scholarship from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as well as the Franklin J. Schaffner Award for Directing. His first feature documentary, IN THE DARK, a story about Serbian miners, premiered at the prestigious IDFA 2014 festival in Amsterdam. He is one of the creators and directors of the series MORNING CHANGES EVERYTHING and the series OPERATION SABRE (in collaboration with Vladimir Tagić), which won the Interpretation Award at the Canneseries Festival 2024 and the Grand Prize at the Serial Killer Festival in Brno, as well as the Golden Maglonia Award in Shaghai. OPERATION SABRE, distributed by Beta Film, has been sold to over 15 territories, including ZDF, ARTE, and HBO. He directed 5 episodes of the series BAD BLOOD and most recently premiered his first feature film OUR FATHER at TIFF 2025, which. Goran, together with producer Snežana van Hauvelingen, is the co-founder of the Belgrade-based production company This and That Productions.
